2:30 AM.
The city was sleeping peacefully but in the huge Khurana Mansion there was someone pacing around his room.
His mind? Lost in thoughts. As always.
But the only difference was this time the thoughts weren't about work, meetings, projects, or his mafia dealings.
It was about her.
The mysterious girl.
The girl he saw at the crossing. The girl who helped an old man without making it obvious. The girl who had captured his mind... and maybe his heart too... from the very moment he saw her.
He tried to sleep. Not once. Not twice.
A whole five times.
But it looked like sleep had broken up with him tonight.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my mind. Trying to understand what was actually happening to me.
Kitni bhi koshish kar loon, neend nahi aa rahi. Aa raha hai toh bas unka khayal.
(No matter how much I try, I can't sleep. The only thing on my mind is her)
Who was she?
Where was she now?
And why was my mind (maybe my heart too) refusing to think about anything else?
I had never felt like this before. The way I was desperately looking outside the car window just to catch one glimpse of her face...If Ruhan had seen me in that moment, he probably would've had a heart attack.
Because Avyaan Khurana never gets distracted. And definitely not by women. Love is weakness. And in my world, weakness doesn't survive. I have more important things to do.
I have to take my revenge. Revenge for the tears that fell from my parents eyes. Revenge for turning a two-year-old child into an orphan.
I couldn't fall for someone.
Never.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my mind. As my thoughts slowly drifted toward that night.
The one night that changed our lives forever.
I picked up my laptop and started working again. Because sleep was far away from my eyes tonight.

Next Morning
The Khurana Mansion's dining table was filled with the usual chatter as everyone sat together for breakfast.
Rudra, stop stealing food from my plate.
Arohi snapped while pulling her sandwich away from him.
I'm not stealing. I'm redistributing resources.
Rudra replied shamelessly, taking another bite.
Wow. MBA student by day, chor by morning.
Arohi muttered.
Rudra gasped dramatically.
Mom, look at her. She insults me daily. This house is toxic.
Aarya sighed while sipping her coffee.
Both of you, please let me eat peacefully for once.
Exactly, Advik nodded seriously.
Your mother should only focus on me during breakfast.
Dad, ew. Rudra winced instantly.
Arohi rolled her eyes.
You both seriously need help.
But before the chaos could continue
footsteps echoed through the mansion.
As if announcing the arrival of one and only Avyaan Khurana.
He descended the grand staircase of Khurana Mansion, dressed in a perfectly tailored blue three-piece suit, the top buttons of his crisp grey blue shirt left slightly open. His coat rested effortlessly in his hand, a sleek silver watch wrapped around his wrist, and his expression remained unreadable as always.
Cold. Calm. Untouchable.
But the moment his eyes landed on his family his expression softened ever so slightly.
Good morning, everyone. he said, his voice firm yet calm.
Good morning Bhai. Rudra grinned.
Arohi narrowed her eyes at him.
You're late.
I know.
Aarya looked at him carefully.
Did you even sleep last night?
For a split second, Avyaan paused.
Then....Yeah.
Lie.
Aarya clearly noticed it but chose not to say anything.
Come sit. Have breakfast first. she said softly.
Avyaan nodded and took his seat beside Rudra.
The breakfast continued with their usual banter and chaos filling the mansion once again.
After breakfast, Avyaan stood up.
Okay, Mom. I'm leaving now.
Then his gaze shifted toward Advik.
By the way, Dad. Are you coming to the office today?
Advik looked at him and shrugged lazily. Why would I? You're the CEO now. Manage it. Then he looked toward Aarya with a smirk.
I have other important things to focus on.
Rudra immediately choked on his juice. While Avyaan and Arohi simply rolled their eyes in disappointment.
Advi. Aarya glared at her husband while gritting her teeth.
Avyaan sighed. clearly done with his parents.
Okay... I'm leaving. Bye everyone. Take care.
Bhai wait, I'm coming too! Rudra shouted before quickly running after Avyaan, trying his best to escape before his mother started beating his father.
Guys don't leave me alone here! Arohi exclaimed dramatically while grabbing her coat and running behind them.
And just like that....the Khurana siblings walked out of the mansion.
The moment the door closed. Aarya stood up slowly and turned toward Advik.
Her arms folded across her chest as she passed him a tight-lipped smile.
What was that, Advi?
What, jaan? Advik asked innocently.
Or at least... he tried to.
Don't act innocent now. Aarya warned glaring at him.
But I am innocent. Advik grinned proudly.
Aarya took a deep breath.
At least have some shame. We are parents now.
So what? Advik shrugged casually.
Can't a man flirt with his own wife?
Advi... I am warn-
But before she could complete her sentence, Advik suddenly pulled her by the wrist, making her fall directly onto his lap.
And before she could react- he captured her lips with his own.

After dropping Rudra at college, while Arohi had already left in her own car, Avyaan turned his car toward the office.
Just then his phone lit up.
Headache Calling.
Avyaan glanced at the screen before picking up the call.
Yes, Ruhan?
Are you at the office? Ruhan asked immediately.
Nope. I was on my way there.
Okay then take a U-turn and come to Sevilla Café.
Why? Avyaan asked, slightly confused.
I got a call from Sunil Jindal's PA. They're leaving for London at noon, so they want to finish the meeting before that.
Okay. I'm coming. Avyaan replied before cutting the call.
As the car stopped in front of Sevilla Café, Avyaan's gaze lifted toward the elegant place.
The café stood beautifully between the chaos of the city warm golden lights glowing through the glass walls, soft music echoing faintly from inside, and the rich aroma of coffee blending perfectly with the cool morning breeze. Luxurious yet peaceful.
The kind of place where powerful people came to discuss business... and where stories accidentally began.
Avyaan stepped out of the car.
Standing tall at 6'3, carrying the confidence of a man who ruled not just companies but an entire empire across Asia.
His presence alone demanded attention. As he moved toward the entrance, his phone rang again.
Headache Calling.
Avyaan picked up the call and continued walking.
I'm here. Just two minu-
But before he could complete his sentence....someone suddenly bumped into his chest.
He looked down. And froze.
Big almond-shaped eyes looked up at him while she rubbed her forehead softly. A slight pout formed on her rose-petal lips as she frowned in annoyance.
And just like that....the world around him faded again.
I came here for a meeting. But instead....I was standing face to face with her.
Her big almond-shaped eyes stared up at me, slightly widened in surprise. Long lashes framed them perfectly, making them look even more unreal under the soft morning light. Her skin glowed naturally, soft and flawless, while a few loose strands of hair rested against her cheeks.
And those lips....Rose-petal pink, slightly parted in annoyance as she rubbed her forehead gently after bumping into me. The silver bangles around her wrist jingled softly as her hand moved.
She looked annoyed.
Maybe even angry.
But honestly? I didn't care.
Because I was too busy admiring her.
Too lost in her.
Hello? Excuse me?
Her voice reached my ears, pulling me out of my trance for a second.
And damn. Her voice was so soft. So feminine. I had never heard someone speak so gently before. It felt less like a voice... and more like a melody.
Hey, mister. Are you even listening to me? She waved her hand slightly in front of my face, and once again I snapped out of my thoughts. I cleared my throat instantly.
I... I'm sorry. I didn't notice you.
She glared at me before mumbling something under her breath so softly that I could barely hear it.
And then
she simply walked past me. As if she hadn't just made my heart race seconds ago. As if she hadn't made me forget how to breathe for a moment.
I turned immediately, my eyes following her retreating figure. Her back faced me as she walked away, her silk-like jet-black wavy hair swaying gently behind her with every step.
And then....my breath hitched slightly.
Those hairs.
That calm aura.
It was her.
The same girl from yesterday. The girl who had occupied my mind the entire night without even showing me her face properly. And for the first time since yesterday....something strangely close to relief settled inside me.
A faint smile almost appeared on my lips before I stopped myself. I found her. Or maybe.....fate brought her back to me.
I wanted to stop her.Wanted to ask her name. Wanted to know everything about her.
But I couldn't move. And for the very first time.....Avyaan Khurana lost control.
